Tyler Kroft Emerges As A Legitimate Fantasy Option

Cincinnati Bengals tight end Tyler Kroft has suddenly emerged as a favorite in waiver wire columns this week. Kroft, who was starting in place of injured tight end Tyler Eifert (back), played huge on Sunday against the Browns. In the team’s first win of the season, he was targeted seven times by quarterback Andy Dalton, catching six of them for 68 yards and two touchdowns on the day. Kroft, who is in his third season with the team, has barely been a blip on the fantasy radar up to this point. Prior to this season, Kroft has only caught 21 passes and scored only once throughout his tenure in the league. However, with Eifert’s return date unknown at the moment and new offensive coordinator Bill Lazor in town, Kroft could be in store for a bigger role moving forward. Does that mean that you should waste a waiver claim on him? Not quite. However, if you are hurting and need a tight end, he will likely still be floating around as a free agent in most fantasy leagues right now.
