Deonte Thompson’s Opportunities Could Increase Moving Forward

This article first appeared on RotoBaller.com

Deonte Thompson for the season has 11 receptions for 125 yards and a touchdown through the first four games in 2017. Thompson has been thrust into the starting lineup due to injuries to Cameron Meredith and Kevin White leading the passing game to suffer. Now that Mike Glennon is benched, rookie Mitch Trubisky will make his NFL debut against a Vikings secondary that has given up the third most receiving yards (748) to the position. It is unclear who will emerge as a playmaker in the offense moving forward but Thompson showed legitimate chemistry playing with Trubisky in the preseason. Thompson is a player to monitor, but not to own, in fantasy over the next few games.
