Orleans Darkwa Sees Limited Carries Due To Injury

New York Giants running back Orleans Darkwa saw reduced carries in Week 5 against the Charges after a 23-yard touchdown run because of a pulled muscle in his leg. Despite the injury, Darkwa had easily his best game of the season, rushing a season-high eight times for 69 yards and the score. Both he and rookie Wayne Gallman saw more run in the backfield with Paul Perkins (ribs) sidelined. Darkwa’s performance may have earned him more opportunity, but he hasn’t been able to stay healthy, and Gallman remains the better upside play. Still, this is a backfield to avoid heading into Week 6 against a tough Broncos run defense, especially after New York lost four of their receivers to injury.
