Keenan Allen Is A WR2 With WR1 Potential

This article first appeared on RotoBaller.com

Los Angeles Chargers wide receiver Keenan Allen isn’t hurting for targets, but he’s not catching enough to make them really count so far. Allen is third in the league in targets and sixth in red-zone targets, but he’s only caught 54% of the balls thrown his way and 22% of those that have come in red-zone territory. He’s had big games that show his potential, such as his 138-yard effort against the Eagles two weeks ago, but he’s only got one touchdown so far. With Melvin Gordon looking like a star catching out of the backfield and other youngsters like Hunter Henry, Tyrell Williams, and (eventually) Mike Williams, Allen needs to show that he can start catching more balls if he’s going to keep getting so many looks.
