Cincinnati Bengals tight end Tyler Eifert (back) has been officially placed on injured reserve, thus ending his season. Eifert was in Los Angeles on Wednesday to get a second opinion regarding surgery after experiencing pain and discomfort throughout the season. Opting to have his second back surgery in under a year, he is slated to be out of commission for up to six months while he recovers. Though Eifert is a free agent after this season, he first has to get healthy as the idea of retirement isn’t out of the equation at this time. When he plays, the Notre Dame alum has been as productive as you could hope, accumulating 20 touchdowns in five limited seasons. However, various injuries have significantly impacted his value, especially on the fantasy end of things.
