Dede Westbrook Looking To Return In Week 9

Jacksonville Jaguars rookie wide receiver Dede Westbrook (hernia) is eligible to come off Injured Reserve after the team’s Week 8 bye, and he could give the offense a needed jolt with Allen Robinson (knee) done for the year. Head coach Doug Marrone said reports suggest Westbrook is on track to return in Week 9. He underwent surgery Sept. 12 to fix a sports hernia and started catches passes on the sidelines last week. Westbrook has been running for two weeks and could return Nov. 5 against the Bengals. The young receiver had a good training camp and preseason but was set back by his hernia. He has a decent amount of upside and will have plenty of opportunity when he returns with Marqise Lee and Allen Hurns not standing out in the passing game. Westbrook is worth a stash in deeper leagues, but there’s no guarantee he’ll be a fantasy force once he’s active.
