Bucs Think Jameis Winston Will Play Again This Year

Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Jameis Winston (shoulder) will not play in Week 11 against the Dolphins and could need extended rest, but the team expects him to play again this season, regardless of the team’s record. Head coach Dirk Koetter and general manager Jason Licht both believe Winston will make it back this year. While Ryan Fitzpatrick will make his second straight start this weekend, Koetter said he would also like to see Ryan Griffin get his first regular season action, but the team will not force it. Just because Tampa thinks Winston will be back in 2017 doesn’t mean he will, and he’s not a must-hold in shallow leagues. The Amish Rifle is nothing more than a QB2 option in a good matchup this weekend, but he’ll have a better shot at putting up decent numbers with Mike Evans returning from his one-game suspension.
