Cleveland Browns wide receiver Jarvis Landry and his new team have not included a long-term extension as part of the trade, and he could play out the 2018 season on the one-year franchise tag. The two sides will likely discuss an extension, but it’s not a guarantee it will happen. Landry could choose to play out 2018 on the one-year deal and see how he fits in with his new offense. Landry set a career high in touchdowns last year while leading the NFL in receptions, but it remains to be seen how he’ll fit in Cleveland. At worst, quarterback Tyrod Taylor will be throwing him passes, which isn’t a bad thing, but Cleveland also has Josh Gordon and Corey Coleman in the passing game. Landry should still be seen as a WR1 in PPR leagues as of now, but his production could obviously suffer.

Cleveland Browns quarterback Deshone Kizer was traded to the Packers, according to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport. What a day for the Browns. After trading for Jarvis Landry and Tyrod Taylor, the team traded Kizer for cornerback Damarious Randall. This could be notable, as star quarterback Aaron Rodgers went down with a collarbone injury last season and may not be fully healthy. Until there is different news, though, the 2017 second rounder Kizer will be a backup.

Free-agent running back Doug Martin has been linked with the Oakland Raiders, according to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network. Raiders head coach Jon Gruden recently arranged for a face-to-face meeting with Martin, according to Rapoport’s sources, and Grduen came away impressed with him as a person. With Marshawn Lynch potentially out of Oakland, the Raiders are expected to make a strong push for Martin in free agency. A two-time 1,000-yard rusher, Martin only has 827 rushing yards over the last two seasons with the Buccaneers. Still, he is only 29 years old and the Raiders could use the bruising back.

Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver Torrey Smith was traded to the Carolina Panthers, according to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network. Smith was thought to be a cut candidate for the Eagles, but the Panthers acquired the speedy receiver for cornerback Daryl Worley. Smith had 36 catches for 264 yards and three touchdowns for the Eagles last season but has a career 16.4 yards-per-catch average. He actually makes perfect sense for a Panthers offense under new offensive coordinator Norv Turner, who loves to push the ball deep downfield and stretch opposing defenses. Smith’s arrival will help take some attention away from Devin Funchess on the outside, but Smith will still be more of a boom-or-bust fantasy option.

Tennessee Titans running back DeMarco Murray will be released, according to Jim Wyatt of “I want to thank DeMarco for his contributions as a Titan, not only for what he did on the field but also in the locker room and in the community,” Titans general manager Jon Robinson said in a statement. “He was a pro in every facet and we wish him and his family the best moving forward.” Murray, who joined the Titans prior to the 2016 season, ran for 659 yards and six touchdowns last season on 184 carries in 2017. Derrick Henry led the Titans with 774 yards and five touchdowns on 176 carries. The former Heisman Trophy winner at the University of Alabama also caught 11 passes for 136 yards and a touchdown. Henry looks to be a top-15 (and potentially top-10) RB leading into 2018.
