According to reports, the Cleveland Browns and running back Duke Johnson have been discussing an extension. Johnson’s rookie deal is set to expire at the conclusion of the 2018 season. NFL Network’s Mike Silver recently tweeted that the Browns want to keep Johnson in Cleveland beyond 2018, but that the two sides are “still somewhat apart on the money.” The Browns offensive coaching staff badly underused Johnson in 2017, despite the fact that the pass-catching specialist was clearly one of their top offensive threats. If Johnson does wind up staying in Cleveland, here’s hoping the Browns find a way to better utilize his talents going forward.
