Week 9 Waiver Wire: Worth a Look (over 50% owned)
Khalil Herbert, CHI- RB (64%)
Finally, Khalil Herbert has performed better than a healthy David Montgomery – something that has been awaited for over a year. Being just one yard short of the century mark, Herbert proved that he was capable of being more efficient with the football than Montgomery. If there was ever a time that Herbert could take over as the RB1 in Chicago, it’s now.
D’Onta Foreman, CAR- RB (76%)
I don’t wanna say I told ya so, BUT… I told ya so. D’Onta Foreman has been incredible in Carolina since Christian McCaffrey got traded, and was even productive whether or not Hubbard was healthy.
Hubbard’s return in Week 9 should not scare anyone away from giving Foreman the start. Foreman has a very high floor against Cincinnati, but as we saw this past week, he also has a very high ceiling.
Kadarius Toney, KC- WR (58%)
Kadarius Toney’s talent was never in doubt, but his ability to play in a big market city such as New York was. However, Toney has been traded to the Chiefs offense and now has one of the best quarterbacks in the league throwing to him in Patrick Mahomes. With the combination of flashy players, Toney has a lot of upside with his new team. Andy Reid said the team wouldn’t rush Toney back, but fantasy owners should be calling dibs.
Tyler Allgeier, ATL- RB (55%)
Despite not being particularly efficient on the ground, Tyler Allgeier certainly got volume. Totaling 85 yards, Allgeier also found the end zone to add onto his 14 rush attempts. In an Atlanta offense desperately looking for stability, Allgeier’s usage may be on the rise.
Week 9 Waiver Wire
Evan Engram, JAX- TE (43%)
Evan Engram has been a pleasant surprise for Duval County. Having no less than 6 targets since Week 4, Engram is capable of being a high-floor streamer option moving forward. If the tight end can score a touchdown, don’t be surprised if he can put up TE1 numbers. Considering the annual TE drought, Engram is not a bad choice at all.
Joshua Palmer, LAC- WR (26%)
Joshua Palmer is being lost in fantasy leagues due to the injury that sidelined him in Week 7. Coming off of a bye, Palmer should be fully healthy and will hope to continue from where he left off in Week 6– with 12 targets and 9 catches. Palmer could be very valuable in PPR leagues, however, Keenan Allen could be back to full volume so Palmer’s usage should be monitored.
Rondale Moore, ARI- WR (36%)
You may remember Rondale Moore being an effective WR2 in Arizona last season opposite DeAndre Hopkins. Well, the situation has risen again. With Hollywood Brown out, and Hopkins back, Moore may be back to his previous role. With a 7/92/1 line in Week 8, we now know that he is capable of getting volume and finding the end zone. He’s a must-pick-up as long as Brown stays sidelined.
